Mario Cucinella has been awarded the 2009 US Award in the Architecture category. This is the second edition of the US Award organised by the journal Ufficio Stile which is published by Il Sole 24 Ore Business Media. The award was established to promote a culture of quality in design of the workplace.
The award has been given for the design of the new 3M Headquarters Building in Pioltello Milan. This building is currently under construction and will be inaugurated in May of this year.
An awards ceremony will be held on February 3rd 2010 at 6.30pm at the headquarters of Il Sole 24 Ore in Milan, preceded by a welcome drink and a round table discussion “Workplace: quality and innovation” with the winning designers and members of the jury.
